Our family just got back from a five day camping trip to Blake Island here in Puget Sound. We had a fire every night even though there was a burning ban in effect, the kids and grandkids loved it! It's just not camping without a fire. The Ranger stopped buy nearly every night to check out our fire, he would comment on what a great fire it was but that we were making his job more difficult, all the other campers were jealous, we were the only ones permitted a fire in the whole campground! My wife said this Campfire In A Can paid for itself in this one trip, and I agree. Thanks again for a great product.

Hi, I’ve really enjoyed the Camp Fire in a Can; it is super easy to use. I think that my favourite thing is that it can be used under my awning on rainy nights or days. It throws a great heat and at night is provides lots of light to my camp. It is also much cheaper to operate then regular campfire using wood that you’ve purchased. It costs me $6 to fill my 5 lbs propane tank, I get a minimum of 3 nights or more out of a tank; a bundle of firewood in a Provincial Park costs about $8 and only offers 2 to 3 hours of burning….and you can’t shut it off when you’re finished with it! Thanks for your assistance.

Perfect size for our fireplace application. We plan to roll up the hose and pack the unit away each season before our heavy snow season. Is it possible to purchase another lid if I need it? The DIY store in South Lake Tahoe Ca. was interested in your product and had many questions. You might want to send information their way! Many True Value Hardware stores as well. Hope you enjoy the pictures. You have been a great help with our project!

Thanks again,

I just wanted to write a little note to tell you how happy we are with our Camp Fire In A Can.

We just returned from two weeks camping and fishing in the mountains of Arizona. With the current fire problems we have had with forest fires, camp fires were banned. We purchased a Camp Fire In A Can with the hope of being able to have the warmth and ambience of a camp fire. Upon arrival at our camp spot we were greeted by the campground host. We asked about the use of our Camp Fire In A Can. He indicated that as long as it was propane it would be alright. The first night as the temperatures cooled we fired up our Camp Fire In A Can. With in minutes we were approached by the camp host along with the local Forest Ranger. Their initial response was "put the fire out, no open wood fires are permitted". Then they took a breath and noticed the propane hose running to the tank. They were amazed at how realistic the fire was coming from our Camp Fire in a Can. They scratched their heads and said "you are perfectly okay with this product but could you turn it down a little, we have several people reporting that you have a camp fire going. If you would turn it down it would make our job easier. We of course complied. Over the next seven day we had four different authority figures, two Police Officers, a Game Warden and another Forest Ranger, zoom into our camp to tell us we could not have an open fire. They were all amazed at how realistic our fire looked and how well it performed.

Again, thank you for making such a great product. It saved our camping trip.

Whoooo hoooooo!
The mail lady delivered a big box yesterday afternoon and it contained my "Campfire In A Can". Now we can jam outdoors on the deck and keep warm around the "adjustable" propane fire and there is no smoke to get in Marlene's eyes. We'll jam around a low fire all night. Well I'm SOOOOOOO happy with my "campfire in a can" that I just had to give Leo a call and let him know.

Thank you for the fast delivery of my Gas Can. I had been researching propane fire pits for a few months wanting to purchase the right one for our needs. It is extremely well built, compact, efficient, and throws off heat that I have found isn't always the case with some other brands of fire pits.

Great company to do business with, thanks again.

Is your product being resold at Camping world as the “little red campfire” or something like that? It looks so much like your product. I own one Campfire in a Can and have been very happy with it. I decided to buy a second for my smaller RV so I didn’t have to transfer them back and forth. Unfortunately I was at Camping World and bought the “Little Red” thing and it was a terrible disappointment. It looks so much like the original Campfire In A Can but, it wasn’t. After a night of trying to get it to work I’ve taken it back and have since placed an order for an authentic Campfire in a can. Camping world is selling a knock off of your product. Yours is so much better made.

Solved A Big Problem For Me, I bought one of these to use with my camper van. Way too often, when staying at a campsite, the fire pit is usually not conveniently located for me to reap the benefits of having a campfire, especially since I generally prefer to set up my camping stove and dining table close to my camper.
However, I used my portable campfire in a can for the first time this late October weekend up in the forest and was thrilled not only to be able to keep warm from the heat generated by a single Duraflame log (2.5 hours burn time). Of course, I also found I had enough time and light to dine by and then to clean up afterwards, while using only a small headlamp.
It was very satisfying to be able to not only control the location of my campfire but to now be able to exploit it for both my enjoyment and tasks. I look forward to using this portable campfire to extend my camping season.

Howdy! My name is Mike Steffen. You may know me as a writer and contributing editor for RV magazines over the years and as a public speaker at RV conferences and shows. When not working though I'm also a camping NUT! My family, kids and grand kids treasure the times we can spend together around a campfire watching the kids toast marshmallows or campfire pies while the adults tell story's, truths and perhaps a few tall tails.
We have found over the last few years that more and more National, State and private RV parks limit or deny campers from having open campfires. When we show them the CampFire in a Can the first thing the fire police normally ask is "Where can I get one ?"
We have both the propane model that we use for much of our outdoor cooking and the wood burning model for campfire gatherings. These are not cheaply made units ! We got our first one about five years ago and it still looks new. Just as one camper to another, take a look and see what you think. By the way, this is my personnel testament to Camp Fire in a Can, NOT a paid promotion. Just thought ya should know.

We received the Campfire in a can late this afternoon, set it up, and enjoyed it for an hour or so out on our deck, before packing it up for our trip. We are very pleased with our purchase, and know we will enjoy it. I am especially pleased with your response and extra efforts on your part in resolving the damage issue. Thank you for your prompt and courteous attention. Thanks again. Kindest Regards,

I bought a campfire in a can years ago, and began using it in RV campgrounds all over the West. People walking by were so interested in it as we were burning it, that it got to where we couldn't enjoy it without being interrupted many times each evening! Thankfully, the Campfire in a Can® Folks sent us some business cards so that we could just hand the card to interested parties and go on with our enjoyment of the fire! I have been so happy with the operation and quality of it, that I purchased the gas version this summer for use in the locations where burning of wood/logs is prohibited. It is every bit as much fun as the original! Keep up the good work!

I have to eat some crow on this one. The valves and gas line that collected ice and caused the fire to not operate properly were not the fault of your design. The propane tank that was first used did in fact run out of propane shortly after use. When I hooked up the new tank we purchased strictly for the fire place is when the problem began. After talking to you, I gave some thought and tried the tank with a BBQ grill and had a problem with propane leaking through the regulator. Apparently the youngster that was to have purged the new tank didn't really know what he was doing. I hooked up still another tank and the grill and fireplace worked fine. I took the tank to a reputable propane station and had it purged correctly. This seems to have solved the problem as the fireplace seems to be working great when we used it last night and the night before.
Thanks for your willingness to set things right. It reflects the quality of your company.

Mike

Hey, thanks for the note. I bought mine when you were in Las Vegas at your RV park and have loved the "Campfire In A Can®". My brother Terry thought they were great and bought one for himself and for each of his kids....too cool!

Many happy returns!

If you haven’t sealed the box yet, toss in a few business cards and I’ll be more than happy to spread the word. It’s certainly been refreshing to work with you company. It’s not often that you find someone willing to help and communicate as much as you folks have. Great job. Thanks.

Thank you for your immediate response. I was very impressed with the customer service side of your business; I felt that you were truly concerned about me and my feelings. I am in the customer service side at Boeing, so I understand the need and sometimes the frustrations of properly dealing with customers. Thanks for the tip about the regulator!

Hi, I purchased a campfire in a can so I could have a fire at night. Anyway, I hated duralogs, and duralog -type logs (smokey), but I loved the Envirolog. I’m a believer. Also, can I tell you what a cool invention is your campfire in a can. I love it!

When I was at the GNARVR in Redmond in July of this year I, after much thought, purchased a Campfire In A Can® unit (I got the works). While at the booth I conversed with the man about burning things other than Duraflame logs, damp or wet wood specifically, including unseasoned wood. The gentleman didn't know for sure, but told me that if I try it, to let them know what happens. And that's the reason for this email.

I only used my unit once while camping this last summer, and it was with a Duraflame log one time, and with matchlite briquettes the other. In both cases it worked fine, and then winter came and it was buttoned up until next spring -- I thought.

One day I decided, during a snowstorm, that it sure would be nice to have a campfire. And the rest is history so they say. Since that time, my friend and I have spent many a cold winter morn sitting out on the patio sipping coffee around a campfire (in a can, of course). What a pleasure.

Today, we did it again, starting with a cheapo Duraflame knockoff (Wal-Mart) and as it burned down, we added a few dry mill ends. Then my eye fell on some snow-covered pruned tree branches that I had piled in the backyard. They were pretty wet, and not seasoned much (trimmed four months before) but we cut chunks off anyway to give them a try. They were about one-inch-thick branch ends, plus some very wet twig material.

So how did they work? Well, to my absolute amazement, they burned all the way down to ash. I figured it was made possible by the incredible amount of heat trapped in the chimney area. We had a wonderful fire using old, damp branches (with a bit of help from a mostly-burned-down "duraflame" log.

We picked up our campfire in a can in Buffalo at an FMCA rally a few years ago. It's great, and provides a quick, easy, not-to-worry campfire. Keep those ideas coming.
